York Blind and Partially Sighted Society (YBPSS) are looking for volunteer home visitors to help people with sight loss to get out of their house and enjoy tasks that other people may take for granted. Volunteers provide companionship and support to help them achieve independence. Volunteers can help with a range of things including reading and answering mail, taking the client out, helping with leisure activities or just having a cup of tea and a chat.
This is a flexible role that can be fitted around other commitments. No experience of volunteering or working with people with sight loss is required as full training will be provided. The next training course is on 11th October from 6pm to 9.30pm. Booking is essential.
To book and find out more please contact Catherine Bamford on 01904 731122 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
