Third Annual Dog Walk In Aid Of 'Keep Your Pet'

  • Knavesmire Knavesmire Road York, YO24 United Kingdom (map)

On 24 April 2016 York charity ‘Keep your pet’ will hold their third annual Dog Walk on the Knavesmire to raise funds for the organisation. Last year’s event raised over £1,000 & was attended by almost 200 people & 100 dogs. Chair of KYP Keith Martin said:

“We expected around thirty dogs so were delighted by the response. The dogs all behaved impeccably and there was a lovely atmosphere. We were thrilled to see so much support for KYP, with supporters travelling from a wide area. We hope to see everyone again this year.”

The walk will be started at 11.00am by Jonathan Cowap from Radio York, who has been a supporter of KYP since its launch in 2012. Jonathan said

“Last year I borrowed a dog called Henry, as unfortunately I don’t own a dog myself. He and I have since become firm friends & I will be walking him again this year.”

Walkers can register from 10.30 and the entry fee is £5.00 per dog or family. All are welcome & there will also be spot prizes, refreshments, home-made dog treats, craft & book stalls, a tombola & a dog tombola. Canine Partners will also do a demonstration of their work.

The entrance is from Knavesmire Road, near the Racecourse buildings. Walkers can do any distance they wish and will be given a completion certificate.
