The Real People Theatre Company returns for the 17th year at York International Women’s Festival with another opportunity to share life experiences.
They are asking the question: what turn of fate, what relationships, what words, what choices made, what acts done or left undone have shaped our lives?
Together with audiences, the company will be exploring the 11+ Exam, issues around body image and food, how the death of someone you love has lasting consequences, whether being a mother of four offers more challenges than being a landlord of numerous properties, restoring self-belief after mental illness, living with dementia, surviving cancer, and why on earth people want to walk on fire!
It’s not often that people get to hear women’s stories from the women themselves in a theatre setting, and then have the added bonus of discussing the issues raised. You will have that opportunity on Monday 14th and Tuesday 15th March, 7.30 – 9 pm, in Theatre 1 at York St John University – it’s in Quad West (no. 19 on the campus map). Tickets on the door £6 (£5 concession). For further information see www.realpeopletheatre.co.uk or phone Artistic Director, Sue Lister, on 01904 488870.
