More than 20 local creative businesses will appear at the Etsy Made Local Christmas Market in York city centre on December 3rd.
At the event – which is free and open to the public – shoppers will be able to browse a wide range of handcrafted, vintage and locally-made items and craft supplies. There’ll be eye-catching fashion accessories, fabulous home furnishings, quirky art prints, DIY craft kits, stunning jewellery, useful stationery and even personalised art work. With so much on offer, shoppers are sure to find festive gifts to suit all ages, for even the hardest-to-buy-for... Or perhaps just some lovely treats for themselves. What’s more, they can discover items they wouldn’t usually find on the high street, while also supporting small independent businesses based in York.
So what’s on offer? For stocking stuffers, shoppers can check out scented wax melts by Peace and Quiet Soy Wax Candles, or delicious chocolates handmade by Haxby-based Foxy Chocs. Art lovers can pick up an on-trend foiled bear print by Studio Kuma or a humorous illustrated calendar by Linda Combi, while those looking for a wearable keepsake can visit twopennylane or Juliamdesigns for whimsical handmade pieces.
With handmade such a massive trend right now, many people are looking to try out new crafts – at the Etsy Made Local Christmas Market, shoppers will be able to check out Wintercroft’s incredible folded mask kits, or teach themselves the intricate art of papercutting with a beginner’s set from HolmesMadePapercuts. Design-lovers will adore Homeward Creative’s reclaimed wood furniture and the colourful work of Naomi’s Stained Glass, plus there’ll be plenty of stylish prints and gifts by the likes of InkBison, Me & My Ampersand and Sia Tzavalas Illustration.
