CGS at the Pyramid Gallery ‘Ripples - Glass Inspired by Nature’
14th March – 5th May 2015
Pyramid Gallery hosts a major exhibition of Studio Glass
With glass artists all over the world responding in numbers to the call to submit work inspired by nature, Pyramid Gallery will be devoting its two exhibition rooms to the work of 27 selected glass makers during March and April, with an opening event on Saturday 14 March.
Over 80 artists entered outstanding work and the selection panel had an extremely hard task selecting just 27 for this intimate show at the Pyramid Gallery, York. The quality of work was exceptionally high showing the versatility of this engaging material.
The exhibition will showcase glass art works that are inspired by nature. Glass has the ability to emulate forms, patterns and structures found in nature; RIPPLES, will highlight the breadth of inspiration that nature provides to many practicing glass artists.
The exhibitors are spread far and wide from all over the UK, Germany and Israel, but amongst the list is a local artist. Rachel Welford from Scarborough and a former student of York College, Lisa Pettibone
