Discover the Facts, Have Your Say, and Ask Questions about High Malton
Local residents will be able to learn more about the proposal to create a sympathetic extension to Malton at an update session in the Milton Rooms on Saturday 6th September from 10am to 12noon.
The event will be an opportunity to put questions to a number of consultants working on the scheme including Masterplanner Leon Krier and concept architect Jan Maciag.
Leon Krier is credited for the design of the Prince of Wales’ Poundbury model development in Dorset.
“The event on 6th September is part of our ongoing conversation with the local community and is a chance for local people to see the latest changes and speak to the development team,” said Tobias Burckhardt, Surveyor for Fitzwilliam Malton Estate. “Members of the team will also answer questions on the day. If people have concerns or suggestions, if anything about the proposal is unclear or if you have positive comments, we are keen to hear from you. You can e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org”.
The development - known provisionally as High Malton - is for a mixed community of 500 homes to be built over a 10-year period on land to the west of the market town between Castle Howard Road and the A64 bypass. The plans, which have been put forward by the Fitzwilliam Malton Estate, include provision for business start-up units, for homes of different kinds (including those starting out on the housing ladder, those designed for growing families, and those embarking on retirement) and large areas of green space and an extensive network of footpaths linking with existing local schools, shops and other nearby facilities.
