FESTIVE STORYTELLING IN THE NORTH YORK MOORS

Young children are invited to join Miss Claus and step inside her magical world of storytelling, music, dressing-up and play at The Moors National Park Centre, Danby on 22 November.

At the Taletastic Christmas event, a festive story will be brought to life by Audrie Woodhouse a professional actor and experienced drama teacher. The enchanted Taletastic tent will pop up in the National Park Centre for one day only on Saturday 22 November. Children (aged 2-6) are encouraged to actively take part in the story and will be kept captivated from start to finish with an exciting mix of dance, song and drama.

Families taking part in the event could combine it with a visit to the centre’s Inspired by… gallery where printmaker Hester Cox and ceramicist Charlotte Morrison will be previewing their exhibition ‘New Ground’ between 12 – 3pm. The gallery will also be hosting an exhibition by local artists and craftworkers association Brigantia.

Sally Ann Smith, Exhibitions and Events Coordinator at the North York Moors National Park Authority, said:

“Audrie’s Taletastic Tent events are very popular with young children who are enthralled by her fantastic range of voices, facial expressions and puppets. The fact that kids can move around and act out the stories themselves adds to the overall experience.”

Taletastic Christmas takes place at 10.30am, 11.30am, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm and costs £3.50 per child. Each session is 45 minutes long and booking is advisable. For more information and to book a place call 01439 772738.
