James Fawcett died suddenly aged 60. He was recognised as a leader in his field and ran the seventh-generation Yorkshire family business Thomas Fawcett & Son
- a maltster and malt roasters which had served the brewing industry for more than 200 years.
He leaves his wife of 28 years, Lara – sister of TV presenter Bear Grylls – and three children, Mungo, Bevan, and Tallulah, as well as his mother, Sara, and two sisters, Nonie and Julia.
James' funeral will take place at York Minster on Thursday, March 6, at 2pm, and will be lead by Margaret Sentamu, a family friend and wife of former Archbishop of York John Sentamu.
Another long-standing friend, Chris Legard of Scampston Hall, will read the eulogy.
Lara led the tributes to James, who died of a sudden cardiac arrest earlier this month during a trip to London.
She said: "He was very entertaining and very very funny and always made everybody laugh.
"He enjoyed a great social life; enjoyed a party, and was always the last to bed."
