As The Press reported at the time, last week City of York Council warned residents and commuters of a lane closure at the Queen Street and Blossom Street junction.
As of this morning the left-hand lane in Queen Street approach to the Micklegate and Blossom Street junction has been closed. There is still two-way traffic, but residents and commuters were asked to plan ahead and this morning traffic was queuing round towards the railway station in the rush hour.
The footway on the city walls side of Queen Street has been closed during these works with pedestrians being directed to use the footway on the station side of Queen Street. A signed pedestrian diversion is now in place.
This stage of work is expected to last for five weeks.
