Three of the fighters had long criminal records including convictions for violence, said Natalie Dean, prosecuting.
Karl Pollard, 53, and Darrell Green, 35, grabbed people round the neck and Stefan Peter Andrew Robertshaw, 35, stamped repeatedly on a man lying on the ground during the lengthy outbreak of violence at Wetherspoon’s Postern Gate on February 8, 2024.
Some of the fighters picked up chairs and threw them and also used a bottle as a weapon. Samuel Brooks, 29, hit a mobile phone out of one man’s hand, and all four men punched out.
All four had been drinking, York Crown Court heard.
When police were called, Pollard, Green and Robertshaw, who have more than 200 previous convictions between them, fled but were arrested nearby.
Brooks, who had only one previous conviction, for being drunk and disorderly, was arrested at the scene.
