
North Yorkshire police say a 44-year-old man has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent, and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place, in connection with the incident in Baker Street, York, on Thursday, June 5.
He is due to appear at York Magistrates Court this morning (June 10).
The force said the victim was a 16-year-old male.
A police spokesman said: "The victim remains in a stable condition in hospital.
"Two further people arrested in connection with this incident have been released on bail while enquiries continue.
"Four others have been released from custody and will face no further action."
Chief Inspector Ryan Chapman, York neighbourhood policing team commander, said extra patrols were put in place in the Clifton area on Friday and throughout the weekend, and the force conducted house-to-house inquiries.
