Craig Paul Whiteley, 48, crashed into a parked car so hard it moved 10 metres along the road, said Kelly Clarke, prosecuting.
When the car owner’s son tried to stop him driving off, Whiteley clipped him, knocking him to the ground and fled.
Recorder Peter Makepeace KC said when police stopped him some distance away, Whiteley said: “What accident? I haven’t hit anybody have I?”
The son had banged on Whiteley’s windscreen to try and get him to stop without success, said the judge.
Ms Clarke said the crash with the parked car damaged Whiteley’s car so badly part of its bodywork was scraping along the road as he drove.
A breath test revealed he was more than twice the drink drive limit.
