The body of a man was found near a footpath at the edge of the Knavesmire, next to Tadcaster Road
- shortly after 7.45am this morning (Thursday, January 30), North Yorkshire Police said.
“Enquiries are ongoing but we’re not treating his death as suspicious,” a force spokesperson said.
“There continues to be a police presence in the area as part of our response.”
As The Press has reported, police and ambulance crews are on the scene at Knavesmire in a wooded area opposite the entrance to Pulleyn Drive this morning.
The fire service is reported to have attended, but crews have since left the area.
There is no cordon in place, but police officers are at the site.
