 A new initiative to encourage York residents to try out different eateries in the city centre is set to launch with over 40 venues offering fixed price menus from £10 to £20. York Restaurant Week will run from 1 – 7 April across the city.

The world-famous residents of JORVIK Viking Centre – from the huntsman with his canine to the poor gentleman who has been straining on the latrine for the last 35 years – are set to escape the confines of the recreated Viking-age street this half term (20 – 27 February 2019)! York-based New Moon Studios has created an augmented reality app that brings the characters to life at different venues around the city!

York Museums Trust have appointed the team that will work on the initial design phase of a major multi-million pound redevelopment at York Castle Museum.

The RIBA stage one phase of the project will see the creation of masterplan and concept designs for the reimagined museum in preparation for the funding campaign.
The proposed development will be a significant part of the City of York Council’s plans for the regeneration of the Castle Gateway area.
