Jan Wilson of The Mount School York wins a Silver Teaching Award in the category, The Award for Teacher of the Year in a Primary School. Selected from thousands of nominations, Jan is one of just 65 winners who will be celebrated today on 22nd June - ‘Thank A Teacher Day’, as the national Teaching Awards marks its 20th year of celebrating excellence in education.
Two Mount Senior School pupils have been named to receive an award for School Physicist of the Year from the Ogden Trust. Daisy Smart (College I) and Clare Treacher (Year 10) will each receive a book token and can apply to become an Ogden alumna, which entitles students to future scholarships and academic opportunities.

A York school is celebrating having achieved 100% Distinctions in national drama examinations. Pupils in The Mount Junior School achieved 100% Distinctions in their annual LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) exams. Pupils in The Mount Senior School's Years 7 and 9 also secured 100% Distinctions.
