BOOST TO TACKLE LONELINESS IN NORTH YORKSHIRE

BOOST TO TACKLE LONELINESS IN NORTH YORKSHIRE

Community First Yorkshire has secured £99,555 from the National Lottery Community Fund’s Building Connections Fund, which it will use to help support and inspire more local action to ‘turbo-charge’ the county’s response to tackling loneliness.

People, of all ages and from all walks of life in North Yorkshire experience loneliness. The project aims to ‘connect’ people to the many activities provided by voluntary and community organisations and help people make new friends.

FUN PALACES

FUN PALACES

York is once again a hotbed of Fun Palaces - a mass participation event in the first weekend of October (6th & 7th) across the UK and beyond. Similar to Red Nose Day or Oxfam’s Big Lunch, Fun Palaces encourages members of every community to unite and share skills, passions, activities and just have a great time together regardless of age, race, orientation etc. Always free, always open to all.
