The Red Tower, on the city walls, is hosting a talk by York-born international best-selling author, Ann Victoria Roberts on October 26 from 14:00 to 15:00 followed by book signing until 15:30.
York Civic Trust has launched a major City wide transport consultation to find out what residents think are the key issues in York and how to tackle them.
Partnering with the York Environment Forum and York Bus Forum, The Trust has launched a survey that will start on the 2nd September and run until 30th September.
Taking inspiration from Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience which opened in York St Mary’s in early July, four paintings by Van Gogh and Monet will adorn the 36 umbrellas along Coppergate Walk to create a new look for the selfie hot-spot throughout August. Looking up, visitors will see The Starry Night and Starry Night Over the Rhone alongside Monet’s Water Lilies from 1907 and Wild Poppies, creating an umbrella gallery in the sky.
York’s Chocolate Story has been nominated for two awards in the prestigious 2019 British Travel Awards (BTAs), first for Best UK Heritage Attraction and also for Best UK Leisure Attraction. The winners will be determined by the consumer, who have until 30th September to cast their vote, with the successful companies announced at the BTA Gala Awards Dinner, being held in London on 27 November 2019.
