York City FC collection - volunteers urgently needed, Good Friday 19th April

We’ve been given the fantastic opportunity to fundraise at York City FC, during their next home game at Bootham Crescent – and we need your help to make it happen!

We are urgently in need of 8-10 volunteers who will wear a blue York Mind t-shirt, hold a blue bucket, and help us collect funds at the home game against Spennymoor Town FC.

York Literature Festival Welcomes Carnegie Shortlisted Author

Sally Nicholls, whose sixth novel “Things A Bright Girl Can Do” has been shortlisted for the CILIP’s Carnegie Medal, will give a talk about her book at The Mount School York on Thursday 28 March from 6pm-7pm. There will be a Q&A session after which the award-winning author will sign books. Copies of her novel will be available onsite from the Little Apple Bookshop.

 A new initiative to encourage York residents to try out different eateries in the city centre is set to launch with over 40 venues offering fixed price menus from £10 to £20. York Restaurant Week will run from 1 – 7 April across the city.
