The importance of the mystical Viking role of ‘seer’ is being retold at JORVIK Viking Centre with the arrival of a series of artefacts discovered in the Isle of Man and Orkney to coincide with this year’s theme for JORVIK Viking Festival – the untold story of women in the Viking age.
ST LEONARD’S Hospice has announced it is offering couples the chance to win a dream wedding in 2020 worth around £15,000.
The competition launches on Valentine’s Day and couples have until 5pm on Thursday 25th April to enter online at the Hospice website. Couples will be asked to tell a bit about themselves and why they’d like to win the wedding package, to describe their ideal wedding day and any ideas they have for fundraising for St Leonard’s Hospice.
With a theme of “The Twelve Days of Christmas”, you might expect Castle Howard’s 2018 festive opening to be shorter than usual, but this year will see the historic house open for longer than ever – 42 days, right up to New Year’s Eve, to enjoy the stunning displays created by theatrical designers, Charlotte Lloyd-Weber and Bretta Gerecke.
