British Travel Awards X York's Chocolate Story

York’s Chocolate Story has been nominated for two awards in the prestigious 2019 British Travel Awards (BTAs), first for Best UK Heritage Attraction and also for Best UK Leisure Attraction.  The winners will be determined by the consumer, who have until 30th September to cast their vote, with the successful companies announced at the BTA Gala Awards Dinner, being held in London on 27 November 2019.

Located in the center of the city, York's Chocolate Story is an entertaining and informative guided tour through the history of York's most famous chocolate-making families and their finest creations. You'll discover chocolate's origins, how to make it, how to taste it like an expert whilst keeping the chocolate heritage alive.

Stuart Wood, General Manager of York’s Chocolate Story said: “We are thrilled to be nominated for a British Travel Award in two different categories. It’s important to our team as we are a fairly new attraction in York so it’s a representation of how far we have come and made an impression with our experience.”

BTA chief executive Lorraine Barnes Burton said: “The British Travel Awards gives the opportunity to reward travel and tourism enterprises for outstanding performance in service delivery and product offering. Last year more than 750,000 votes were cast by the travelling public to determine the 2018 Award winners; voting in the 2019 Awards is now open with nominated companies having until 30th September to lobby their happy customers for votes – good luck to York’s Chocolate Story.”

The British Travel Awards are considered the benchmark for excellence when it comes to finding out who really is the best in the travel industry. The British Travel Awards is a proudly independent organisation, verified by leading global business practitioners, Deloitte.
