The Thirsk Mayor's Ball are thrilled to announce that they have raised a total of £14,360 at the Ball on Saturday 23rd March which will be split between two fantastic causes:
Inclusion Unit at Thirsk School & Sixth Form College
The Inclusion Unit will be a place for pupils to retreat to if they are struggling or if they have issues (either at home or at school). This safe space will give students access to a counsellor, and they will be taught other skills such as cooking and gardening etc. The ultimate aim with each child would be to work with them until they feel confident enough to go back into mainstream education.
Herriot Hospice Homecare
This incredible charity provides free, personalised care across North Yorkshire to enable people to live comfortably and with dignity in their own home during the last weeks of their life. Other than end of life care, they offer bereavement support, respite care and therapy for those suffering, and for their families as well.
This amount of money would not have been raised without the great support including:
Our incredibly generous sponsors; Calvert's Carpets and Newby Foods
All of the wonderful people who kindly provided the reception drinks
Everyone and every company that donated an auction prize including YO1 Radio for their prize to broadcast alongside the Feel Good Breakfast Crew, and to people who bid!
The fantastic people who provided their time and expertise; especially Proportion Marketing who designed and printed all of the brochures.
The amazing team who helped out on the night, including the helpers from the Herriot Hospice Homecare.
And last but not least - the glamorous guests who came out to support the evening.
It was a wonderful evening and great to raise so much for two worthy causes.
