The Red Tower, on the city walls, is hosting a talk by York-born international best-selling author, Ann Victoria Roberts on October 26 from 14:00 to 15:00 followed by book signing until 15:30. Her sixth novel, 'One Night, Two Lives', launched in July 2019, is partly set in York and spans a period of time from 1960s to the present day. It is a compelling narrative that addresses big questions of consent, forgiveness and redemption.
The talk will be held at the Red Tower, Foss Islands on 26 October from 2-3pm followed by a book signing. Ann hit the national headlines when her first historical novels, Louisa Elliott and the sequel, Liam’s Story sold in the USA for what was then a record sum for a first-time author. Louisa Elliott is set in York during the last decade of the 19th century and is the central and dramatic setting for this powerful novel. Based on a true story, it tells of three lives woven together by love, desire, and conflicting loyalties.
