ST LEONARD’S Hospice in York has revealed their new Chief Executive this week.
The Chair and Trustees of St Leonard’s Hospice are delighted to announce the appointment of Emma Johnson to the post of Chief Executive Officer.
Emma was educated locally at Joseph Rowntree School and has worked at the Hospice as Director of Clinical Services since 2012. Prior to this Emma has had a long career in the NHS, spending 15 years working in the NHS Hospitals in Leeds and working in senior nursing positions in Surgery, Neurosciences, Gastroenterology and Critical Care and has also worked as a Clinical Educator and Directorate Manager.
David Dickson, Chair of the Board of Trustees, said "We believe that Emma’s career to date has provided her with considerable skills and relevant experience which will make her an excellent leader for St Leonard’s.”
Emma said: "I am very proud to be offered the opportunity to lead St Leonard’s, a charity that has an excellent reputation in the community. I look forward to continuing to work with all the staff, trustees and many volunteers to ensure that the growing number of people who will need hospice care over next few years are able to access the high quality, compassionate care that we provide."
Emma will take up her new position on 1st February 2019.
