A special service will be held in the chapel of York Crematorium, Bishopthorpe, on Sunday 3 December at 12.30. and will be conducted by the Crematorium Chaplain, The Revd. Allan Hughes.

This popular and comforting (half hour) service is now in its 13th year. Everyone is welcome, irrespective of where or when their bereavement occured. There is an opportunity for family and friends to write down the names of their loved ones, and these will be read out during the service. At the end of the service, everyone is given a card, on which to write the names of those they have lost, and a helium balloon. These are then released, with the cards attached, into the sky.

The chaplain and members of staff will be on hand to help anyone who hasn't been before.
