A unique new shopping scheme to encourage people to shop local has been launched in Thirsk.

‘ShopAppy.com’ brings local shops and products together in one place online to enable customers to spend closer to home.

It promotes independent retailers which is vital for market towns like Thirsk where traders have to compete with large chains

Under the new scheme shoppers can place their orders on the ShopAppy website with each store picking and bagging the order ready for collection – either at one point or at individual shops.

The scheme, which is being supported by Hambleton District Council, can be accessed on shopappy.com.
