Dan Pybus signs a two and a half-year contract with York City FC, committing his future to the club.

Dan Pybus, a midfielder for York City Football Club, has officially signed a two and a half-year deal with the team.

The 25-year-old joined the club as a free agent at the start of August and immediately established himself in the side, featuring in every game for the Minstermen this season.

The combative, ball-winning midfielder previously turned out for Dunfermline Athletic in the Scottish Championship, where he was Manager’s Player of the Year last season, and Queen of the South prior to that.

Before his time in Scotland, Pybus played in Norway for FK Tønsberg and in League One for Bradford City after graduating through Sunderland AFC’s academy.

On getting the deal over the line, York City Chairman Glen Henderson said: “I’m really pleased that Dan has decided to commit to the club for the next two and a half years.

“Dan was the first player that I was involved in signing and I think everybody has been impressed with how his time at York has turned out so far. He has become a key part of our squad and it was a no brainer to try and extend his time at the club.

“He is a true professional and has all the characteristics that our football club is all about. He’s a player that fits our vision for the club and I’m glad that he has decided to move forward with us.”
