YORK & NORTH YORKSHIRE COMBINED AUTHORITY ELECTION

THURSDAY 2nd MAY 2024

Voters will go to the polls on Thursday 2nd May 2024 to elect the first ever Elected Mayor for York & North Yorkshire.

The new YORK & NORTH YORKSHIRE COMBINED AUTHORITY will work alongside the City of York Council and North Yorkshire Council - and will have responsibility for transport, together with certain aspects of business support and education.

The Mayor will appoint a Deputy for Police, Fire & Crime, as the role of NY Police & Crime Commissioner is merged with that of the new Mayor.

There are SIX CANDIDATES standing in the election. The poll will take place on Thursday 2nd May with Polling Stations open from 7am to 10pm. You will need to take photographic ID with you to vote in person.

The result will be announced on Friday 3rd May 2024
